What opens us more deeply to growth and faithfulness in Christ? What seems to hinder our formation as persons and communities in Christ? And, how can we set the table for adults to discover and sustain lifelong apprenticeship to Jesus?

Carve out some time to relax and pray and pay attention to the things that matter in your life and faith community. Join like-minded friends as we hold space to learn, explore, and encourage one another toward a more relational way of life and ministry.

Held at beautiful Green Bay Bible Camp (West Kelowna, British Columbia) beginning with dinner (5:30 pm) on Monday, October 5 and ending just before noon on Wednesday, October 7. Full schedule to come soon.

The guides for our Gathering:

Jim Matthies has been married to his wife, Janna, for 29 years, and together they have three adult children. For the past 28 years, they have made their home in Indianapolis, where Jim has served as a local church pastor. Most recently, he has been part of Common Ground Church, serving as Formation Pastor for the past 17 years, overseeing both formation and missions.

Jim delights in retreating with God, backpacking, exploring new cities and countries, watching baseball, and engaging in thoughtful conversations about politics and current events. He brings to our gathering a deep joy in guiding others to expect God’s presence and to live with greater freedom and deeper roots.

Pamela Edwards, PhD, serves VantagePoint3 Ministries by thinking about best practices for Adult Learning and Growth, with a particular eye on developmentally minded leaders. She co-authored A Mentoring Guide: Christ. Conversation. Companionship (VP3, 2019), as well as the recently refreshed Journey process.

Pam and her husband, Teryl, have been married 40 years. They have three adult children and 12 grandchildren, which includes two sets of identical twins! Pam loves a good long walk/hike and looks forward to having and hosting meaningful conversations.

Robert Loane serves as President of VantagePoint3 Ministries (VP3), seeking to both learn and encourage a more relational way of life and ministry. He is co-author of Deep Mentoring: Guiding Others on Their Leadership Journey (IVP, 2012) and A Mentoring Guide: Christ. Conversation. Companionship (VP3, 2019). He has been the lead writer of The Journey process and other VP3 processes for the last 20 years. At the core of his life and work, Rob loves helping people find ways to have better conversations about the things that matter most in their lives.
