Join us for a time of shared reflection and discussion, pause and prayer, gathered around a topic critical to our lives: “Walking with God and Others through Pain and Suffering.” Life is full of beauty and joys and adversities and grief. Our Father is a good and wise God who has purposes for such a paradoxical journey. Together we will engage in a conversation
about suffering’s place in our own formation and in our work of serving others.

We invited a good friend of VP3, Scott Shaum, to address this topic and facilitate this conversation two years ago in Banff, Alberta. Scott facilitated such a meaningful time that we decided to offer this gathering again in the greater Chicago area. Rob Loane and Pam Edwards will host the time. And we want you to join us. We trust that this conversation will launch a rich time of prayer, learning, and fellowship for everyone.

Scott and his wife, Beth, serve with Barnabas International as shepherds, coaches, and spiritual guides to mission leaders globally.

The Gathering includes lodging for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights (April 20-22); all meals on Friday and Saturday plus Sunday breakfast. Participants are responsible for personal travel arrangements and costs. Registrations are non-refundable after April 1.
